Join the crew at the flower farm!
SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Hop on the crew
Our farm is growing! We have two busy seasons each year: fall harvest and shipping, and the spring shipping and planting season. Each one is typically 4-8 weeks, with varying types of help needed at each point.
Our crews are an extension of the community that's grown up around the farm. We work hard, but we always have a lot of fun together sending our flowers out into the world.
We're looking for more fellow dahlia lovers who care as much about our customer's gardens as we do; who are fun to work with; and who are available to work flexible hours during the busy seasons at our farm.

If you're interested in any of the positions below, please drop us a line at contact@sunsetviewfarm.com. We look forward to working with you!

Upcoming Fall positions, onsite at Sunset View Farm Dahlias
Estimated position dates: October 15th-November 15th 2026
Hours for most positions are flexible. Priority will be given to candidates who can commit to more time.

Dahlia Dividers
Help us divide washed dahlia clumps into single division tubers. We'll provide training on our standards for division, and continuing training to help you hone your skills, but this is not a beginner position. You will need at least two seasons' experience dividing dahlias, and we'll ask you to pass a brief skills test.

This is a social job - you'll be working in a group under supervision of the harvest manager.
Dahlia Tuber Checkers and Counters
Support our harvest team by sorting, checking, and taking accurate counts of each dahlia variety. This is a very important task that requires deep familiarity with dahlia tubers and good focus. A great job for someone who wants to be part of the mission, but also likes to work alone (it's hard to chat and count!)

Dahlia Washing Crew Captain
Wash dahlia clumps taken from the field, and teach work-trade participants how to safely handle and wash clumps.
You'll receive waterproofing gear, but this is a standing position that requires comfort with outdoor water contact in the fall. If you don't mind working alone or with others, and long hours outdoors don't bother you, this could be a great job for you.

General Harvest Support
We'll be hiring one or two people who can do hop in just about anywhere in the process (minus the office and computer work). That includes dividing, digging, washing, stamping dahlias, moving crates and materials around the farm, and other general hands on, indoor and outdoor farm labor.
You'll need to commit to a certain number of dates and hours, as we'll be depending on you to fill positions when/if other folks who are joining us with flexible schedules aren't able to make it.

Customer Care
Remote work available after required on-site training. May be a contractor role or employee position depending on the needs of the right candidate.
Help us deliver the quick, kind, and knowledgeable customer service we're known for during the busy seasons! You'll be the (digital) face of our brand, working directly with customers as you provide email customer service.

Skills required: Good conversational writing skills; Basic computer literacy; Microsoft Outlook; Google Sheets; A cheerful disposition!
You must be available to help solve customer cases via email for 1-3 hours a day during the busy shipping season. A genuine care for the gardeners we serve is a must, balanced with the need to defend the fair interests of the business.
We will provide training, but a good working knowledge of the whole dahlia lifecycle is a huge plus for this candidate. Ideally, a great candidate will be able to stay on for subsequent seasons, including the upcoming spring shipping season.

Shipping Support Crew
We'll be hiring a few folks to help pick orders in the fall; check orders for quality, close boxes, and do other general tasks in the shipping room. Fall shipping generally lasts about 1-2 weeks.
