Want a tuber sale website ready for April, 2026?

Your website is your fulltime salesman

You're already great at growing dahlias, and you've got lots of tubers. Let me set up a site that sells them for you!

With a well designed dahlia ecommerce site you can:

  • Reach a national market and sell dahlias while you sleep

  • Build an email list and reduce or eliminate your reliance on social media

  • Reduce the complexity of taking and tracking orders

  • Make fulfillment easier and shipping cheaper

  • Reduce your customer service load from messages and calls

  • Set yourself up to scale your business

Your designer - Dan Grinthal

Owner/operator, Sunset View Farm Dahlias

My degree in Industrial Design (RIT, 2018) helped me build and maintain our family's farm site on Wix when we began selling tubers. We now sell event tickets, workshops, online courses, bouquet subscriptions and more through our website, which has converted over $600K in sales since 2022.

You'll seldom (if ever!) find a good web designer who also actually understands dahlias. Together with my family, I built our dahlia business from the ground up, making changes to our ecommerce system as we went along, specifically geared toward the needs of our industry.

The platform - Wix
Wix is one of the leading ecommerce sites, which quite a lot of dahlia sellers use. Wix allows you to build a beautiful ecommerce website with no coding skill. You will never need to learn code or pay a webmaster to make changes. I built (and wrote) this page in 30 minutes.

It's simple and inexpensive to set up for a new business, but it offers an excellent email marketing package and analytics for growing businesses.

  • Cancelling, refunding, and editing orders

What's not included

Ongoing web management

At the moment I am not providing web management services. I'll set up your site and teach you how to use it, so you won't need a manager.

Exhaustive Wix training

You will be fully equipped to run the ecommerce portion of your business with Wix, but the purpose of our arrangement is not to provide you with an exhaustive tutorial of all of Wix's features.

Wix has excellent training material and a huge user base, so there are lots of Youtube tutorials for questions that will inevitably come up as you run your business over the coming years.

Wix plan payments

You're responsible for purchasing a Wix plan. I recommend you don't purchase a full yearly plan. Try a monthly plan first. A monthly premium plan for April-May will cost about $60. A domain will cost about $30 for the year.

Your total initial cost would be about $600 for the experiment, which is less than 50 average tubers.

What you will need

  • An official business formation letter and a business bank account and/or a business paypal account**

  • A domain name chosen (doesn't need to be purchased yet, but it's ok if you've already got it)

  • A catalog of dahlia tubers with marketable photos

  • A tuber sale date set for this spring

  • Shipping policies, the basic story of your farm, and your contact info

**I neither need nor want to see these things but you'll need them for the site to work for you

Only $500?
What's the catch?

If you've looked into this at all, you know by now that web design is expensive, much more expensive than $500 for anything worth having.

However. Let me tell you why we're starting this way.

My wife and I run Sunset View Farm Dahlias together with my parents. It's an awesome business, but Emma is currently going to medical school and we're always looking for new things to that dahlia people would love, and which could earn some extra money for tuition.

We're considering starting a side business that helps budding dahliapreneurs (pun intended) set up profitable businesses. You would be helping us gauge interest, learn how best to help customers, and create our system.

This spring, I have time to build at least one website with Wix that can be 100% ready for the owner's tuber sale by April 1st. That could be you!
