MAKE YOUR OWN ONE-OF-A-KIND DRIED FLORAL WREATH
This is a hands-on expert guided workshop. While you work together on creating your own wreath, you will learn:
- How to plan the vision for your piece before you start
- How to choose the right size wreath base and floral components that fit the vision you have for your space
- What flowers and fillers are best for drying and crafting, including many you can grow yourself
- Many varieties of beautiful, free flowers and fillers that you can forage from around your home and community
- Basic construction techniques for different styles of wreaths, such as hot glue and grapevine, as well as single hoop and wire
- How to incorporate focal flowers into your greenery base, including both air dried and silica dried dahlias
- Flourishes and finishes, including ribbons, bows, and other accents
- How to avoid common beginner mistakes with floral crafting in general
WHO SHOULD JOIN THE WORKSHOP?
This workshop is designed for total beginners, but anyone who loves hands-on crafting will enjoy it. If you love holiday wreaths and were planning to purchase one this year, why not come and learn how to make your own for the same price!
YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Niccole Sisco, a local floral artist and a seasonal member of our team, will be your instructor.
Niccole has been making wreaths of all kinds for years, both professionally and for fun! She has experience with many different kinds of fresh and dried wreaths, but she especially loves using locally foraged greens and florals as well as growing and drying her own materials.
We first learned about Niccole's talents as a wreathmaker last year when she surprised us with a fresh evergreen wreath that lasted all winter on our porch. We've since learned that making and giving away wreaths of all kinds is a seasonal tradition for her. She loves the craft, and she has a wealth of knowledge to share with you all!
Other members of the Sunset View Farm Dahlias family and crew may drop in to assist over the course of the workshop. Look for the embroidered overalls!

Please arrive early as we will start on time. Use the gravel farm entrance (not the asphalt driveway with the mailbox); follow the road past the barn and park in the lot behind the solar panels. Meet us in the red barn!
WEATHER
This workshop will be held rain or shine, since we will be safely out of the weather in the event of rain.
Please dress warmly in layers, as we may be in a range of indoor and outdoor temperatures throughout the workshop.
NO TOOLS NECESSARY
Bring a notebook and light work gloves or garden gloves (the kind that leave you plenty of dexterity) if you like. A water bottle is recommended. We'll provide everything else you need.
