Petals and Pasta
August 29th
Afternoon and evening sessions

Escape to our Tuscan-style flower farm to master the art of traditional pasta making!
Learn to knead and shape traditional dough from scratch, mastering fun shapes like Farfalle (butterflies), Orecchiette (little ears), and Ravioli, which you'll take home with you to prepare for your family.
After our time together in the kitchen, we'll take a tour of our sprawling dahlia fields, then transition to the outdoor deck overlooking the farm.

Get out your favorite sundress and join us this September for a sunset supper enjoyed in the surreal ambiance of 10,000 dahlias in bloom.
Bring your own lawn chairs and folding table, or just roll out a picnic blanket on the paths in the flower fields, and enjoy your own delicious spread at your leisure.
Selling Dahlias to Florists, Grocers, and Wholesalers

Convert your fear to confidence with this fun and effective training on business-to-business dahlia sales.
Learn how to find customers for your dahlias, approach them winsomely, and score profitable relationships with florists, grocers and wholesalers who will be thrilled to buy your blooms.
Delivered by Linda Grinthal, who trained and managed sales people for over 35 years before starting our family flower farm.

We are still working on the details for this event, but we're planning a big gathering of dahlia lovers from all over the tri-state area who want to trade with each other on site at our farm.

Start a Dahlia Hobby Business

U-Pick Dahlias
Fill a mason jar with your choice of the most beautiful blooms on our farm! Experience the flower farming life for an afternoon or evening and take home the fruits of your own labor.
We keep our U-Picks small to preserve the intimate experience of the fields for all - so don't wait until September to save your spot!

Harvest, Divide, & Store Dahlia Tubers

Jump into the harvest on a real working dahlia farm!
Learn how to safely dig and wash dahlias without breaking them; gain skill and confidence as a divider as you practice on our clumps under expert instruction; and learn the science of successful tuber storage systems, no matter your home environment.
Dividing Dahlias
Nov 13 and 14th
Gain the confidence and skill you need to divide your own dahlia clumps to exponentially multiply your collection.
Learn how to spot eyes, avoid breakage, and expertly split clumps. This class includes hours of practice on our clumps, under our expert instruction. You’re also welcome to bring your own clumps from home and divide them with our help!
On-Farm Tuber Sale
The only thing more fun than shopping for dahlia tubers is picking out your very own tubers, right here on the farm.

Work Trade
Trade time for dahlia tubers as you learn about the world's most beautiful hobby!
We have three work trade programs throughout the season: planting, fulfillment (shipping), and harvest.
Participants have a blast and make new friends while learning all about what goes into caring for these unique plants. And of course, everyone gets to take home tubers for their own gardens!

Photography
Your photography session at Sunset View Farm will be set in a field of thousands of dahlias in their full glory. As you might expect, sunset shots are especially spectacular here.

Community Garden
In addition to being a working flower farm, we are one of the largest community gardens in New Jersey - and dare we say, the most fun!
Over the years, countless people have enjoyed sharing in the beauty, peace and friendship of our place in rural Sussex County.
Pumpkin contests, garlic patches, picklefests, tractor rides and more; bucolic fun abounds at the garden. Plus, our gardeners get to wander around the flower fields whenever they want!
